Students take the reins to tackle issues in their community

Gwinnett high schools students Nardose Mekonnen and Samrawit Solomon cofounded Relief and Restore, a non profit organization founded to help serve the needs of their community. The organization has grown to over one hundred students and alumni of Shiloh High School. We sit down with Nardose, Samrawit, Hasset Mengesti, Firdows Abdulwahab, Miles Kilpatrick and their sponsor Dr. Gore to talk about the vision and mission of Relief and Restore.To learn more about the organization follow them on social media @reliefnrestore. Community School Coordinator

Dr. Gore is a veteran educator with 19 years experience in various roles in the education system. Her most fond memories are those that occurred with students in her classroom, where she taught senior English for 12 years. Most recently, Dr. Gore served as an assistant principal at Shiloh High School for six years, and she is now in her second year as the Shiloh Cluster Community School Coordinator. Dr. Gore enjoys reading, writing, practicing yoga, and spending time with her son and family. She also works with a group of student leaders at Shiloh High School in her role as sponsor for Relief N' Restore.
