PINK STEM is helping girls break through the science barrier

Tamika Ray-Head is the Founder and Director of PinkSTEM Inc. Her current position is the STEM Director and Robotics Coach of surrounding groups in Atlanta Metro Area. She began her journey for mentoring youth in 1998 for the Boys and Girls Club in Augusta GA. She volunteered there several summers as a tutor and mentor. Upon graduating high school in Augusta Georgia, Tamika joined the US Air Force following her dads footsteps. During her tenure she was an Air Traffic Controller Supervisor and trainer (5 years), she then held a position as a Cardiopulmonary Laboratory Supervisor (Respiratory Therapy Concentration) 3 years. Tamika has obtained a degree in both fields. She volunteered as a Big Brother, Big Sister also while in the military.” After separation, she volunteered once more at two BGCA. Tamika Ray’s next journey began as an educator. She has taught Algebra, Physical Science, Honors Chemistry, Earth Science and her favorite Anatomy and Physiology. She is currently teaching and operating this organization simultaneously.

Tamika is the CEO of Government Education Consulting Business PEEC (Pink Engineering Educational Consultants) which hires Engineers and and IT professionals to consult educators and students. www.pinkengineeringedu.com

She also is a partner in WEi (Women Engineering and I.T.) a firm to hire Engineers and Information Technologist and provide them with employment opportunities within the government sector. (www.pinkengineeringedu.com) She is the proud mother of 3 daughters, a 3 and 2 year old, and her 16 year old who enjoys equestrian riding, gymnastics and theatre, and of course STEM!
