Congressional candidate

I’m Lexy Doherty. I’m a geologist, educator, and poll worker. I’m running for Congress because I believe our government can be functional, productive, and forward-thinking. I’d like to see a new generation of representatives who are ready to put partisanship aside and build a country that lives up to our values of justice and opportunity for all people. I’m passionate about rural economic development, environmental stewardship, protecting voting rights, and ensuring equal opportunities for all Georgians. I’m ready to represent GA-CD10 and I’m excited to build a diverse coalition of working Americans to lead our country into the future.

I moved to Athens-Clarke County to attend UGA for graduate school. I studied economic geology and have long advocated for the sustainable energy movement. I now work as an educational consultant and support students in finding their path after high school. Outside of my “day job”, I work as an Assistant Precinct Manager to protect access to our most sacred right- our right to vote- and as a member of the Oconee Rivers Greenway Commission where I advocate for shared public green spaces to improve the health of our communities. In my free time, I work on the farm where my horse is boarded.
