Conversations with Karen and Cat

Carol Love is the Executive Director of Family Promise of Gwinnett. For the previous five years she was an Associate at Wilbanks Partners, where she focused on marketing, events, and client relationship management. Carol was the founding Director of Family Promise of Gwinnett’s Salt Light Center and is excited to be back and working with the churches, donors, and volunteers.Carol’s business career began with Ernst & Young as an Analyst in the Fraud & Investigative Disputes Services Group, and she subsequently became a Marketing Associate in the firm’s Financial Services Advisory Group. Carol earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

Carol’s pride and joy are her husband Ben and her son Tristan. She is grateful that the Lord has led her back to Family Promise and is enjoying the adventure.

Family Promise of Gwinnett County is a community based response that brings existing local resources together to help homeless children and their families regain their housing and their independence, while maintaining their dignity. They mobilize congregations of faith, community volunteers, and social service agencies. Through intensive case management and counseling, they address the underlying causes of homelessness. Together with the community, they are ending homelessness – one family at a time.

The organization offers a program that provides shelter to children and their families experiencing homelessness. The goals for families to Make Money, Save Money and Find Housing. Families are able to stay overnight at the Promise Haven facility and receive hospitality from the congregation and community volunteers. Families who meet eligibility requirements stay at Promise Haven in the evenings and use the Day Center during the day as needed. The day Center provides families with access to a mailing address, counseling services, case management and a place to go when Promise Haven is closed during the day.

Carol Love returned to Family Promise of Gwinnett as the Executive Director in August of 2019.
