In this episode we chat with Maria Uribe, Manager of Donor Relations for Junior Achievement, USA. Maria is an experienced NGO professional contributing in the social good space as a team member of Junior Achievement USA (JA).
JA redefines and adds value to experiential learning by removing the walls between education and the surrounding community. For more than 100 years, JA has been committed to a world where young people have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities. Today, that includes 102 JA Area offices impacting 3.3 million youth nationwide.
Maria is a contributing member of the Development Group, the team responsible for the national organization's resource generation. Her primary focus is overseeing corporate and foundation philanthropy via Donor Relations. This includes Partnership Development, Account Management, and Grant & Project Coordination. Maria is also the Donor Relations Lead on Amazon and Mercedes Benz USA. They both support 3DE by JA in local communities with their employees where they do business. 3DE by JA is revolutionary in the way they immerse students in future career aspirations across industries (Shipping and Delivery – Amazon) (Automobile/Manufacturing – MBUSA). JA’s 3DE model is structured as a private – public joint venture to engage youth in a comprehensive instructional approach proven to foster the behaviors, skills and mindsets necessary for students to have the opportunity to lead choice-filled lives.
